Notable feature films include “Dead Snow: Red Vs. Dead” the sequel to Tommy Wirkola’s popular Icelandic zombie film “Dead Snow,” “Another World,” a post-apocalyptic zombie film billed as the first action sci-fi film from Israel, “Soulmate,” a beautiful and haunting ghost story produced by Neil Marshall (The Descent, Dog Soldiers) and directed by Axelle Carolyn, “Call Girl of Cthulhu,” a tongue-in-cheek play on HP Lovecraft’s popular Cthulhu Mythos, and “Hi-8: Horror Independent,” an anthology ode to straight-to-video horrors of yore featuring San Diego filmmakers.
One of our greatest accomplishments the feeling of community and family that our audience feels at a Horrible Imaginings Film Festival event. Horror can be a stigmatized genre, and this is a forum free from stigma, in which a person can discuss films with like-minded people in a safe space, and understand the potency of connection these types of art can provide. We look forward to continuing to make that family grow and prosper in the country’s Finest City! Food will be provided by Horrible Imaginings sponsors Pizzeria Luigi—icons of San Diego and integral to the North Park community.
