The Geekiest & Most Depressing Star Wars Easter Basket...Ever

Every season, we do our best to hit several stores and show off the goofiest of geek/holiday mash-ups. These have included Darth Vader with a kiss mark on his mask for Valentine's Day, Yoda with bunny ears for Easter and every damn character under the sun sporting a Santa hat for Christmas. Suffice to say, Star Wars is always featured prominently. Today, we came across an Easter basket that is, all at once, so completely geeky and, upon reflection, so bleakly morose, we are positive we will never see the likes of it again. Let's explore this masterpiece...

Side 1: Darth Vader with a reflection of Luke Skywalker in his eyes- This is clearly meant to be the exact moment where Vader tells Luke he is his father, causing untold emotional turmoil in poor Luke's head, so much so, he sees no alternative but to jump to his seemingly inevitable death. Cheerful!

Side 2: Stormtrooper with a reflection of Rebel Fleet Troopers- Stormtroopers raid the Tantive IV to capture rebel leader Princess Leia Organa and retake the stolen Death Star plans alongside a very pissed off Darth Vader. We can assume all the rebels in this reflection were killed in battle or executed soon after. Warm and fuzzy!

Side 3: Boba Fett with a reflection of Han Solo frozen in carbonite- Whether this be the moment where Han was first frozen and said to be preserved perfectly for transport, the moment where they put Han on Slave 1 for delivery to Jabba the Hutt or perhaps the moment of triumph when Boba finally presents his prize to Jabba, you'll agree it's all equally dark and probably not the best moment to emblazon across a kid's Easter basket...unless you are buying it for a messed up friend (ie; any number of Idle Hands readers). THIS ONE'S FOR YOU MATT!

Side 4: Greedo with a reflection of Han Solo- We all know this moment, purely from the relaxed posture of Han Solo. It is probably seconds before HAN SOLO BLASTS GREEDO INTO OBLIVION!!! Holy damn. Yea...let's celebrate Greedo's death alongside the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Seems legit.

6 bucks at Target = a lifetime of hysterical laughter every time you show a Star Wars fan this treasure. We had so much fun with this ultimate Star Wars Easter basket, we thought we'd prep some art for next year's edition...

Here's Anakin Skywalker visiting some youngling Jedi in training...

An Ewok eager to invite Han Solo and friends to diner...

A Clone Trooper explaining the finer points of "Order 66" to Aayla Secura...

It's going to be a very Star Wars Easter!!!
