The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Reveals The Sinister 6...Sort Of...

As we spiral toward Friday and the release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, eagle eyed readers keep watch of the internet for additional viral drops linked directly into the film, and more importantly, news on after credit sequence reveals. At our New York press screening, all our waiting through the credits was for naught as the lights came on and we were left with nothing but the actual film to talk about. MONSTERS!! I suppose we've come to expect these extra sequences on the end of any Marvel super hero film now, and why wouldn't we? Even  the first Amazing Spider-Man film had one! Fellow journos in attendance told us the extra bits on the European release of ASM2 were for the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past film, further confounding fans. Now it seems those flashes of CG designs during the credits may have been all we will get. Sony suggests the following course of action...

After seeing THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 – opening on May 2nd - be sure to Shazam the end credit sequence to unlock a look into the sinister future.  Download @Shazam on iTunes or GooglePlay. #SpiderMan

CommingSoon did the hard work for us. SCREEN GRABS!

The first four seem obvious.. Green Goblin, Vulture, Rhino (roborhino..bla), and Doctor Octopus (which really is an awful name when you have to hear yourself saying it out loud). Lead internet geeks are speculating number 5 is Kraven, and with only a puff of smoke to drive your guesses, number 6 could be Mysterio OR The Chameleon. My money is on the latter, with film creators saying "Hey, everyone loves Mystique....MALE MYSTIQUE!" They could add some techno element to his transformations which would explain the grid-like texture. Of course, we could be overlooking the most obvious answer here....Electro! Now, let's step back to Kraven for a moment. If the film makers are dead set on an Osborn Teched-up Sinister 6, we may be looking at a very different Kraven. Let this rattle this around in your head for a bit....

SO! Do all these reveals mean you shouldn't bother sitting through the credits? NOT ONE BIT. In the past, I've gone to advance screenings and press previews that did not have the mid/end of credits extra bits attached. Hell, didn't they add the Shwarma scene to the end of The Avengers on the European cut and I'm told X-Men Origins: Wolverine had region specific endings. Go hit that first screening of Amazing Spider-Man 2 and report back to us with what you see!
