Toy Fair 2013 : Tom and Jerry... Coming.. Soon?

Since we were on the subject of cartoons today, I thought we'd continue the party with a visit from some childhood friends. It is absolutely amazing (and awesome) that Tom and Jerry is still on TV, on heavy rotation on channels like Cartoon Network and Boomerang. With all that horrific violence to blow off the top of any ultra Christian bible thumper's head, you'd think it would have been banned by now. With an announcement from Cartoon Network, it is quite the opposite.

The Tom and Jerry Show: The iconic cat and mouse rivals are back in The Tom and Jerry Show, a fresh take on the classic series. Preserving the look, characters and sensibility of the original, the all-new series shines a brightly colored, high-definition lens on the madcap slapstick and never-ending battle that has made Tom and Jerry two of the most beloved characters of all time. The Tom and Jerry Show is produced by Warner Bros. Animation.

Taking into account our info is from UK Toy fair, we can tell you the show is set to air April of 2013 on Boomerang. It is 2D animation...none of that CG nonsense or sidescrolly Canadiamation and 26 episodes will kick things off right.

At the UK show, Flair was the host/ distributor? and Giochi Preziosi (Gormiti) the manufacturer of some fantastic new Tom and Jerry toys. Playmates brought Gormiti to the states, so perhaps they'll pick up this line as well. You'll note that Jazwares currently have some Tom and Jerry items on the market, but perhaps GP's license is for the new show? GP's line includes character figure packs Garden Fun, Pizza Express, Rodeo Jerry, Space Jerry, Spike Skate and Trash Tom.

Then there are Tricky Toon sets we only got a glimpse of. Here's a peek...

There's a Tricky Trap House that looks like a blast for die hard fans...

And finally...the Tom Bomb Game...

It seems these toys have started to see a release in Italy but are slated for a June release in the UK. We'll be meeting up with Playmates at the New York International Toy Fair, so we'll be sure to check and see if these toys are running about..and if not, we'll be on the hunt for more info!

We've still got a small mountain of UK Toy Fair goodness to sort through as the companies begin to send us all their teasers and pre-show reveals, so keep checking back often and follow us on Twitter at https://twitter.com/idlehandsblog or https://twitter.com/nomadixxx (if you want your news faster and don't mind mildly psycho chatter.)

You can also dive into our picture galleries as they go live RIGHT HERE!

  1. Is it possible that you still have this tricky trap house and would be willing to sell it? My daughter wants it so badly and I cannot find it anywhere. jkhalilieh@hotmail.com

    1. Sorry, we just take the pictures. I'm not sure if any of this stuff even made it to the states.
